Join us for a visit to local specialty businesses for a uniquely Nashville tour. We will visit Bongo Java’s Coffee Roasting Facility for a behind the scenes tour and tasting followed by a visit to Manuel couture. We’ll stop at the Nashville Farmers Market for a lunch to remember before heading to Marathon Village, once the home to Marathon Motor Works, and now a bustling artistic district. At Marathon, you will find local boutiques including Otis James, Bang! Candy Company, Corsair Artisan, Antique Archeology, and several others along with distilleries, cafes, artists, recording studios, a radio station, custom clothing, and jewelry manufacturing and many other craftsmen and women.

Fortunes, Fiddles and Fried Chicken:

Ryman Auditorium, Wildhorse Saloon and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

A visit to Music City USA, would not be complete without spending some time at the world famous Ryman Auditorium, home of WSM’s Grand Ole Opry for over 30 years. You can almost feel the presence of the country music legends that have graced its stage for decades. Then let’s boogie over to the legendary Wildhorse Saloon for a buffet style lunch. And no visit to the Wildhorse would be complete without dancing lessons from by one of Nashville’s authentic line dancers! Next it is off to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum which brings the music to center stage with an impressive mix of technology and breathtaking artifacts. The permanent exhibits display a rich collection of costumes, memorabilia, instruments, photographs, manuscripts and other objects that tell the legendary story of country music. Keep an eye out for Hank Williams ivory suit, Roger Miller’s 11 Grammy’s and Trisha Yearwood’s application to work as a tour guide. P.S. she got the job.

Cheekwood and Bell Meade Plantation

Saturday, May 16th 10:30 am – 3:00 pm Cost: $110 per person

Includes Transport via deluxe coach to and from the Omni Hotel, admission to Cheekwood, plus the Belle Mead Plantation guided tour, cooking demonstration and lunch and all fees, taxes and gratuities

Cheekwood, the private home and estate of the Leslie cheek family is now a beautiful 55 acre property providing visitors with a unique experience of art and gardens. Completed in 1932, Cheekwood first opened to the public in 1960. The Museum of Art is located in the former Cheek mansion. Built of limestone, quarried form the property, the Museum is a fine example of Georgian style architecture. The Botanical Garden includes specialty gardens throughout the property, greenhouses and landscaped vistas. The gardens change throughout the year and are lovely in every season.
Next a visit to Belle Mead Plantation for a guided tour of the 1853 Greek Revival Mansion, where a century of Belle Meade Plantations history is told through the eyes of the Harding and Jackson family and the skilled laborers who collectively worked to make the Plantation America’s premier Thoroughbred Horse Farm. After the tour, you can explore on your own, the eight historic buildings on the property including the massive carriage house and stable, before participating in cooking Southern food classics in the original Plantation kitchen. This is a get your hands in the dough, flour on your shoes kind of experience! Sample items such as beaten biscuits, southern biscuits, country ham, pecan honey jelly, and blackberry lemonade and enjoy a lunch of fine Southern cuisine before returning to the hotel.
